The first thing I did was go online to see what kind of parking was available near the theater. It was bitter cold, so I wanted something close, but not too expensive. In about two minutes I found three garages within a few blocks with rates from $16-$24 for up to 12 hours. Many other nearby garages were charging upwards of $32. The site shows you a street map, gives you the name, exact address and phone number of any garage you highlight - and if there's a rate guarantee, you just print it out and take it with you. The whole process was very easy and it was reassuring to know exactly where we were going and how much it would cost. A friend of mine also used them to find a monthly parking garage at about half the rate other garages were charging.

I have a pickup truck. I thought I was going to have to garage it in Brooklyn or upper Manhattan and only see it twice a year. I can’t afford $500/month to park. But then I came across this site: http://nyc.bestparking.com/. The prices here are much, much lower. Like $160/month for the first year, $200/month thereafter. Much more affordable. I ended up parking in an Icon lot in midtown, 2 blocks from work, for $200/month — for a 4×4 pickup. That’s a good deal. Of course, I only have experience with monthly parking deals. A colleague who lives in New Jersey tells me he uses the site when driving in for Rangers games. He uses it to make a reservation for a spot in advance. That way he doesn’t get hosed when driving up to a lot.

Frequently Asked Questions
Rate Information
Are the quoted rates per hour, per day, or for the entire arrival/departure window?
The quoted rates represent the fee for your entire stay (arrival date/time to
departure date/time). Thus, they are neither "per day" nor "per hour".
For facilities that don't offer a reservation and/or rate guarantee, how accurate are your rates?
Our rate collector gathers pricing information on a quarterly basis.
If you point at any facility on our map after arrival/departure dates/times
are entered "Calculate Rates" is clicked and look in the bottom right of
the facility pop-up, you will see the date our rate collector last visited
that facility.
I called the facility and the daily/monthly rate differs from what is listed on BestParking.
If the facility is highlighted as offering a reservation and/or rate guarantee,
then don't worry - your rate is guaranteed no matter what the attendant
(perhaps incorrectly) says. If the facility is not highlighted,
then either (a) the attendant is accidentally omitting a special rate or
is rounding the price (most attendants don't know their facility's rates,
especially ones with complicated rate structures) or (b) our rate is actually
incorrect.
Incomplete Data
A phone number for a facility isn't listed on BestParking or is incorrect.
We make every attempt to acquire phone numbers.
If a phone number is not listed, then it is probable that either the parking
facility does not have a direct phone line or the phone number is only
distributed to current monthly customers. If you have a phone number that
we don't have, please email General@BestParking.com with the updated information.
A parking facility is missing from your map.
Is the facility open to the public and within our coverage area
(the "By Neighborhood" search option displays the coverage area for each city)?
If so, please let us know the address of the missing facility
(email General@BestParking.com) and we'll send our rate collector to that
location as soon as possible.
Will you be expanding to other areas/cities?
Certainly; however, we do not have an official timetable for our rollout.
If you wish to be notified of a particular city launch,
please send an email to General@BestParking.com
with the subject:
"Please alert me when you expand to ___."
Specific Parking Needs
Where can I find the cheapest parking near...?
BestParking.com is simply a tool to help you decide where you want to
park by displaying the rates and locations of parking garages.
Because we are an independent company we are unable to provide you
with specific recommendations.
However, you should use our website's daily parking option to find inexpensive
garages near your destination. Simply plug in your destination, arrival,
and departure times to view all parking rates in the area.
Please remember that unless a garage offers a reservation and/or rate guarantee,
the rate is not guaranteed, and you will need to confirm it either via phone
or in person before parking.
Do most facilities allow for in/out service?
No - very few allow it. However, sometimes the parking facility will have
an unlimited in/out arrangement with nearby hotels.
Where can I find parking for a large van or truck?
New York City: Select "Large Van/Truck" when running a daily or monthly search. We'll forwarding your request to parking operators who can handle such vehicles. We can't list specific parking facilities because available space for large vehicles continuously changes and rates depend on precise vehicle dimensions.
All Other Cities & Airports: You'll need to use the daily or monthly phone numbers listed in the facility pop-up windows on our map. An outdoor facility with a large capacity, all else being equal, is more likely to be able to accommodate large vehicles.

The largest parking operators in the nation have partnered with BestParking.com to offer guaranteed rates, reservations, coupons, monthly specials, and exclusive deals directly to the site’s users. BestParking’s “Parking Partners” include Central Parking System, Standard Parking, Edison ParkFast, Five Star Parking, Network Parking, Hertz, Icon Parking Systems, Champion Parking, Quik Park, Enterprise Parking, and other major operators. BestParking.com is a member of The National Parking Association.
Cities - Daily Parking: Motorists can search for parking by neighborhood, address, cross street, or attraction. All parking garages and lots near the search destination will appear on a map and sortable list. Details for each facility are posted, including addresses, phone numbers, capacity (if available), valet/park and lock/self-park, indoor/outdoor, and SUV/Minivan/Van/Truck regulations. Prices are displayed once an arrival and departure time are entered and the "calculate rates" button is pressed. Our system considers all possible pricing variations (e.g., early-bird, evening, holiday specials, and extra overnight charges) before running an instant rate comparison and returning all results for the time period. If your goal is to get the cheapest rate, we urge you to run a few searches and compare them, as small variations in arrival and departure times may mean the difference between qualifying for a terrific cheap special and paying a maximum charge. If driving an SUV or Minivan, be sure to carefully read the garage/lot pop-up for any surcharges. If your search results in an "N/A" (Not Applicable), either the garage or lot is closed at the time of your arrival/departure or daily parking is not allowed.
Cities - Monthly Parking: The default vehicle type is for a regular vehicle. A regular vehicle measures less than 181 inches in length and less than 70 inches high (not a SUV, minivan, van, truck, luxury vehicle, exotic vehicle, stretch limousine, chauffeured car, electric car, or motorcycle). The posted rates are often higher than the actual rates customers pay since most parking facilities are open to negotiation. In fact, many garage/lot signs substitute "inquire within" for a monthly rate, which we indicate by a "N/P" (Not Posted). An "N/A" (Not Applicable) result means either that the garage/lot does not accept your type of vehicle or monthly parking is not allowed.
Airports: All on-airport and off-airport garages and lots for every major U.S. airport are displayed on a map and corresponding list below the map. Details for each facility are provided and all rates can be instantly calculated so that motorists can make a fair and unbiased comparison. Both short-term and long-term parking is supported.

otherwise inaccurate information. You should always confirm our rates with
the garage or lot before leaving your car. Finally, by including garages
and lots on our site, we make no representation about their business
practices or reliability in caring for your vehicle.

Your Vehicle
Regular
The initial monthly search returns the "Regular" car rate, which can be refined by selecting "SUV/Minivan," "Large Van/Truck," "Luxury" car, or "Motorcycle" (click a "[+]" below to see definitions). An "N/A" (Not Applicable) result means that the garage either does not offer monthly parking or is currently full, while "N/P" (Not Posted) means that the garage allows monthly parking but does not post its rates. Pointing at a garage on the map will show additional details if posted, including extra charges for special parking services (e.g., Main Floor and Park & Lock).
SUV/Minivan
Select "SUV/Minivan" if you have a vehicle that is between 180-220 inches long. The usual standard is 181" long and 70" high or 75" high regardless of length. However, many garages cannot accommodate vehicles at the far end of the scale, particularly large vans or full-size pickups that are more than 210" long or 80" high. Garage signs are often vague (e.g., "SUV" or "4x4"), so past experience is your best guide as to whether an extra charge applies. Pointing at a garage on the map will show additional details if posted, including vehicle dimensions and additional rates for vans, etc. On occasion, a garage will post a rate for a "Regular" car, but only a notice to "inquire within" for an "SUV/Minivan," in which case an "SUV/Minivan " search will return "N/P" (Not Posted).
Large Van/Truck
If your vehicle exceeds SUV/Minivan limits, then expect to be denied entry to most inside garages and even many outdoor lots, regardless of your willingness to pay a surcharge. Because of this situation, BestParking cannot directly provide a rate on our site. However, we will try to facilitate your search, as follows: (1) Select Large Van/Truck, and (2) complete the popup form. One of our "Parking Partners" will contact you with a parking quote.
Luxury
Select "Luxury" if you have a high-end Mercedes, BMW, Lexus, Cadillac, etc. Garages rarely list specific models, so past experience is your best guide as to whether an extra charge applies. Pointing at a garage on the map will show additional details if posted, including separate rates for an "Exotic" car such as a Rolls Royce, Bentley, or Maserati. On occasion, a garage will post a rate for a "Regular" car, but only a notice to "inquire within" for a "Luxury" car, in which case a "Luxury" search will return "N/P" (Not Posted).
Motorcycle
Selecting "Motorcycle" will return the posted rate, "N/P" (Not Posted) if the garage sign includes a notice to "inquire within" for a "Motorcycle," or "N/A" (Not Applicable) if there is no indication that the garage accommodates motorcycle parking.
Close
SUV/Minivan: Check this option if you have a vehicle that is between 180-220 inches long. Most garages will charge a $10-$15 daily surcharge. The usual standard is 181" long and 70" high or 75" high regardless of length. However, many garages cannot accommodate vehicles at the far end of the scale, particularly large vans, full-size pickup trucks, cars with roof storage devices, etc., that typically are more than 210" long or 80" high. Therefore, past experience is your best guide, or, if you are unsure, call the garage in advance and ask about your specific model (point at the garage images on the map to view phone numbers and, when posted, vehicle dimensions).
Large Van/Truck: If your vehicle exceeds the SUV/Minivan limits, then expect to be denied entry to most inside garages and even many outdoor lots, regardless of your willingness to pay a surcharge. Because of this situation, BestParking cannot directly provide a guaranteed or even estimated rate. However, we will try to facilitate your search, as follows: (1) Check Large Van/Truck, (2) click Calculate Rates, and
(3) complete the popup form. One of our "Parking Partners" will contact you with a customized quote.
A green garage offers a free "Rate Guarantee" of our listed rate (which may include a discount), but not a reserved space.
If you prefer a "Reservation (with Rate Guarantee)," select a blue garage.
BestParking.com "Parking Partners" (see list to the right of the map) continuously
provide us with up-to-date rate information.
We indicate this to you by highlighting the "Partner" garages on our site. Thus, if you do a day/time search, and arrive
and depart as indicated in your printed "Rate Guarantee," you will never
be surprised. Although we also make every effort to verify the accuracy of
non-"Partner" rates, we cannot provide the same level of absolute assurance.
Thus, prior to leaving your car at a garage that is not highlighted on the site,
please take the time to confirm that our posted rate is what you will actually
be charged.
A blue garage offers a free
"Reservation (with Rate Guarantee)" of our listed rate
(which may include a discount).
You must print the "Reservation (with Rate Guarantee)"
(from either our or the garage's site)
and hand it to the garage attendant.
Please note carefully the arrival and departure times on the printed form.
